From time to time, we have vacancies in one or more sections of the choir. If this is the case, we hold a rehearsal especially for potential new members. See our term dates page for details of the next new member rehearsal.
When we have vacancies, our Musical Director is looking for members who can sing in tune and have voices that blend with other people (in other words, good 'ensemble' singers who work well in a group). You don’t need to be a high-quality soloist. You don’t have to read music either, although that will always help. You will just need the discipline to come to rehearsals and learn your part (we aim to sing as much as possible without music).
What Happens at a New Member Rehearsal?
If you come to a new member rehearsal, you'll experience a typical Jubilate rehearsal. If you enjoy your first rehearsal, and would like to become a member, there will be a short audition with the Musical Director. If you are successful, then welcome to Jubilate! All you need do after that is turn up to rehearsals and pay your subs each term to cover rehearsal expenses. All new members receive a welcome pack which explains everything you need to know.
So, Come along...
Rehearsals are at Pinner Methodist Church, Love Lane, Pinner, Middlesex, HA5 3EE. We meet every Tuesday during the academic term from 8pm to 10pm. Click here for a map of how to get to Pinner Methodist Church. There is plenty of parking on Love Lane and the surrounding streets.
But — check first. See the term dates page for details of the next new member rehearsal.
